Make It | Crochet Coasters

by Sarah

As I mentioned yesterday in my post about the “C” word (and it’s not crochet, in case you’re wondering!) I have started getting my crafts done for presents during the festive season.

I have started with some quick and simple crochet coasters to get me warmed up and to create a pile to make me feel like I have done much more than I actually have – great mind trick!  (also works by adding things that you have already done to your to-do list so you can cross something off instantly! Clever, huh?)

Handmade Crochet Coasters

Anyway, back to my crochet.  I found the pattern through Pinterest from a lovely blogger Janette from The Green Dragonfly (you can get the pattern for yourself here) and knew straight away that they would make amazing presents once bundled up into batches and ties with some pretty ribbon.

I started to take some process shots but go so excited making them that I forgot to document the whole process! (whoops!) Luckily you can get the whole thing over on Janette’s blog with some great photos so it saves me time really and I get to enjoy the fun bit of making them! (I’ll post the pics I took anyway, just so you can see them)

These are fantastic little makes as they only take about 15 minutes each from start to finish and they look absolutely lovely once completed.  I think I might make some larger ones as matching place mats too.

If you are a beginner at crochet, there are a great way to grow your confidence and to make something lovely that you can share with your friends and family!  Don’t worry if it takes you longer that me, just take the time you need to get them completed. Because they are so simple and satisfying I know that you will find yourself wanting to make more!

Enjoy your crochet and please do share some pictures of your creations, I’d love to see them 🙂
