It would be entirely understandable if you were wondering whether I had a lobotomy last night for posting an outfit of the day, but my dear, you would be wrong!
This morning I awoke to a notification on Facebook informing me that I had been added to an ‘OOTD’ group. My first thought, was ‘why do people keep adding me to groups that I don’t want to be added to?!! …and think it is a good idea?!!’ and that was swiftly followed by ‘what the heck is OOTD?!!‘
Of course, me being me, I had to find out what it was. So I pressed the link and scrolled through the group. It turns out that ‘OOTD’ stands for ‘Outfit of the day’. Riiiiight, got it! Still no idea why I was added though, although the group description does say something about people needing advice and inspiration. Perhaps they have noticed that I’m not the world’s greatest fashionista.
So anyway, it got me thinking. Why don’t I do a OOTD (How cool do I feel now!) post so that I can share with you my amazing sense of style and dress to maybe inspire you. (HA! What am I thinking?!)
Anyway, here goes with day one of my Outfit of the Day posts! Enjoy!
(I am sure my poses will get better as I go on, but for now be gentle…)
Today I am wearing my favourite jeans ever, which are by Grass. My t-shirt is from H&M (I know, I have since found out that they have dropped in Ethiscore since I last checked!) and my new (to me) White Stuff jumper. All highlighted by my bright yellow pedometer.
This next picture is probably more indicative of how I would pose… although trying to do outfit shots makes my face go into ‘concentration mode’
The style that I am going for today is comfy casual, which is my favourite style. I do love a nice wooly jumper as it keeps me cosy for my early morning walks as well as when I’m sat at my desk.
Now for the detail:
I bought my jeans from TK Maxx over 6 years ago and they have taken a bit of a battering, especially as I used to ear a d Crumpler bumbag every day. Because of that and also because I want to keep these jeans going FOREVER, I have darned the holes and patched the areas that are wearing.
…and a bum shot!!
As you can see, I have a nice ass I have had to do quite a few repairs, especially to the pocket as I carry my keys on a macrame chain attached to my jeans, so I have a tendency to wear through the pockets. I used a variety of coloured embroidery thread to keep the repairs cheerful and to match with the style of the jeans.
The Accessories
I accessorise every day with my pedometer (see above pictures… it’s yellow!) – I even wore it with a dress to a wedding recently. It added that little bit of needed bling (even though it was slightly obscured by the belt) and my necklace. My necklace is by The Magpie’s Daughter – a local jewellery designer and maker and was a present from Jit for my birthday this year after me eyeing it up for AGES.
(fuzzy picture, but you’ll see it again!)
And of course my wooly socks to keep my toes cosy!
So there you have it, my very first OOTD is almost complete. But before I sign off, here is the obligatory where to buy and price guide thingy.
Jeans: Grass, 6+ years old bought from TK Maxx for £20
T-shirt: H&M (no idea whether you can still buy them!)
Jumper: The White Stuff, bought for £5.99 from Oxfam on Oldham Street, Manchester
Pedometer: Fitbit, case from eBay
Necklace: The Magpie’s Daughter
Socks: M&S hand-me-down from my Dad (I actually gave them to him in the first place!)
Embroidery thread for repairs: My Nana’s embroidery thread tin
So that is all from me on my outfit of the day post. Back to the real world of checking on the curry in the slow cooker and getting a recipe out there to help you with your foodie dilemmas!
I hope you enjoyed my post and are eager to see what I am wearing tomorrow – I know I am!
Have a great day!
Did you enjoy my OOTD post? Can you offer any advice to make it better – poses/details etc?
Share in the comments below – as a beginner in this kind of thing, all advice is welcome! 😀

Yes! OOTDs are amongst my favourite things to post. I really like the colour of those jeans – the perfect shade for a light wash denim x
Comfy socks are the best <3
They really are, but not as great as comfy jeans! 😉

I love that White Stuff jumper – it’s such a lovely shade of green! Good work on the wooly socks too, glad to see I’m not the only one with permanently cold feet.
Thanks, Penelope, I was so chuffed to spot it in the charity shop window and even more pleased to find it was White Stuff too! Yep, join the cold feet club! I was really cold this morning at 7:30am that I have considered breaking out the Hot socks!

Thanks, Kels! Ooh, I’d not heard of weekly outfit posts, that might be a bit easier if I get busy – thanks for the tip! The embroidery on the jeans are lovely, aren’t they! So cheery on my bum! 😉 x
