Avocado Smush Smoothie

Yum, greenish smoothie!  Yep, it’s the Avocado Smush Smoothie! …and why is it called that I hear you ask… Well, it is because the avocado was slightly over ripe and smushy, simple hey?

To be honest, being new to the world of smoothies, we are still in the early stages of learning and experimenting with flavours and content.  To also be honest here, they have been really quite chilling in the winter months because of the addition of the frozen fruit, so I have been trying to find ‘warmer’ ones that we both like. (I tried a spiced one, which I thought was nice, but didn’t meet Jit’s taste so it was back to the drawing board)

So far I have started adding a coffee protein shake, a choc banana one and now this amazing invention (and store cupboard clearer) the one and only Avocade Smush Smoothie!

The ingredients make one small Breville Active Blend bottle (and I make two each morning, so double the ingredients)

Ingredients:

250ml soya milk

1 ripe banana

2 tbsp Quaker Honey and Almond Good Morning Quaker Oats (or you can just use ordinary – I was experimenting and wanted to clear some space in the cupboard, so thought I’d give them a go – delicious, by the way!)

1 tbsp smooth peanut butter

1/2 an over ripe avocado (or you could use just ripe if you have one hanging around waiting to be eaten)

1/2 tsp Agave Nectar

Method:

Add the ingredients to the blender bottle in the order above (or in the order described by your blender manufacturer) and blitz for about a minute to make sure everything is smooth and mixed

Either drink straight from the bottle or enjoy in a glass

I have to say that I was actually really surprised by this smoothie, it is SO creamy and delicious and used up stuff that has been hanging around.

Give it a go and let me know what you think!
